If you’re a self-proclaimed Lady Gaga hater and proud of that fact, I’d advise to never go to a Lady Gaga concert because you will be converted. She will bring you into the fold with her insane, dazzling performances. Her screams, her middle fingers up, her unflinching honesty made the Born This Way Ball on February 6, 2013 in St. Paul, Minnesota a cataclysmic event that could only be matched by a hydrogen bomb going off in a metropolis.
I’ve been a Lady Gaga fan for a very long time, since I was 18, when I heard “Just Dance” for the first time at Phi Kappa Psi. I’ve been through a lot as her fan, I’ve been disappointed, I’ve been angry, and I’ve even considered being done with her. Last night’s show put all my doubts and fears about her to rest.

Commentary: Lady Gaga boldly asserts she is “every icon” amidst the ‘Applause’

On Sunday, July 28, when Women’s Wear Daily dropped the single cover for Lady Gaga's newest song, 'Applause,’ with an accompanying article, that odd feeling came back to me. I’ve been experiencing this weird emotion for awhile and I haven’t been able to pinpoint what it was.
As I read the article, I figured it out. I was feeling elation.
Gaga asks: “I wanna know. What do you see?”
What I see is a woman who got beaten down so much during her last era, physically and verbally, rising up from the ashes of her past albums. She not only has her fit body back, but she’s also brought back that swagger that was so apparent during “The Fame” era.

Lady Gaga urges fans to ignore Perez Hilton’s incessant bullying

In a message on her fan community site, LittleMonsters.com, Lady Gaga continues to show her grace and maturity in the face of childish behavior.
"monsters, i promise you this will happen for the duration of the campaign with him. in the sincerest way i can tell you that none of this bothers me so it should not bother you. ok my lil babies? pay him no mind. try to practice acceptance and tolerance even when its difficult. -GAGA"
This heartfelt message was in response to Hilton’s incessant attempts to drag Gaga by continuing the tired comparisons to Madonna and exacerbating the stan wars between different fan bases. Recently, he tweeted a photo of a side-by-side comparison of Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” album cover and Gaga’s recently released cover of “Applause.”

The Freak Show: An in-depth look at Lady Gaga’s video for ‘Applause’

For anyone living under a rock in the past few days,Lady Gaga’s video for ‘Applause’ premiered August 19, 2013 on Good Morning America, splashed across every billboard in Times Square. Already thevideo has nearly 15 million views on YouTube. The video itself on the surface is weird but fun in the vein of the campy Gaga videos we were blessed with during The Fame Monster era. Quite possibly her best video since ‘Bad Romance.’ But if you watch the video more than once, and I suggest you do, you’ll see that there are layers upon layers of meaning and symbolism.
The video isn’t just a circus freak show, it’s a presentation of past, present and future Gaga, the saturation of her many influences, and the first time she’s smiled in a music video in years. Take a look through my list as I attempt to call out every possible multi-faceted imagery in this amazing piece of theater.

Under bone-crushing beats, Lady Gaga takes us through her journey on ARTPOP

The wait is finally over. Lady Gaga's third studio album, 'ARTPOP,’ is now streaming everywhere on iTunes Radio. The official release is Monday, November 11.
For the past year, Gaga has been toting this album has being her peak artistic vision, claiming that she is making living art. At worst, she’s been written off as being pretentious, but while listening to the album as a full story, I completely get it.
The album takes us on a ride that begins with Gaga “killing” her former self and takes us through her psyche, her vulnerability and the darkness that lives inside her. By the end, she asks us for our “Applause,” for sharing her proprietary information. It’s an album that is filled with anxiety, hope, despair, sex, desire, fury and above all, love.
